Warranty Policy

At Lifespan we pride ourselves in great customer service and being reasonable people.

We understand equipment failure can be a frustrating experience, and so we are dedicated to bring you fast turnaround for faulty goods and expert after sales support with our trained technicians.

Lifespan provides a full minimum 12 months warranty coverage on all products sold. Warranty periods may vary for different types of products.

What do I do if I have a faulty product?

Here are a few easy steps to take in order to lodge a warranty return with us.

1. Please retain your invoice or receipt as a proof of purchase.
Warranty is only valid if you can prove you are the original purchaser on this item (e.g. receipt, invoice, delivery date or internet confirmation), and is within the term of the policy.

2. Make sure the fault, defect or failure is within our warranty policy.
We do not cover products that is faulty due to:
a. Ordinary wear and tear, user negligence, misuse or abuse, incorrect handling of the product, non-compliance of the operating instructions, accident or fire
b. Malicious damage by a third person, includes alterations or modifications by a non authorised service technician or parties.
c. Failure to service the equipment in accordance with the user manual’s specifications and recommendations
d. Rusting of equipment
e. Used for commercial purposes or non-normal activities; products from Lifespan used in a rental or hire situation.
f. Damaged caused by transportation of your item. If you suspect any damage to your item you may sign your item ‘UNCHECKED’ or have the responsibility delegated to transport insurance if purchased.
g. Faulty or defected cables

3. Contact our Lifespan team via phone or email. Even if you are sure the equipment is faulty, please lodge a support request with the details of the problem. This is to avoid discovering the good is non-faulty and end up costing the owner time/money/freight spent on transporting the item to and from us (Unless 14-Days Dead on Arrival, see DoA). There may also be a known fix or workaround we can point you in the direction of.

4. Once you have contacted us and sought approval, you will need to return the product to an authorised Lifespan dealer with your proof of purchase

Lifespan Lifetime Motor Warranty

At Lifespan we are dedicated to bringing you high quality treadmills at affordable prices. We guarantee long term high performance from our treadmill range, and so all faulty components will be replaced or supplied free of charge. This policy is only valid for treadmills used in a domestic environment, and will not cover normal wear & tear.

Our Lifetime Warranty policies guarantees on the lifetime of the product on the market. This is considered to be 5 years unless otherwise stated specifically.

Dead on Arrival (DoA)

‘DoA’ applies to products which have a major fault within 14 days of customer purchase. These products may be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Lifespan.

Parts Replacement Policy

All parts replaced within the warranty period are covered for a minimum of 3 months.
All parts replaced outside the warranty period are also covered for a minimum of 3 months.

Callouts

Callouts are not included in our warranty policy. For all call outs, a fee will apply plus labour charge. Please also note that in some areas, call outs are not available.

Personal Injuries/Damage

We also do not cover any personal injuries or damage due to accidents, misuse, neglect, normal wear, improper assembly or improper maintenance.

Australian Consumer Law

Many of our products come with a guarantee or warranty from the manufacturer. In addition, they come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Full details of your consumer rights may be found at www.consumerlaw.gov.au

1.0       Lifespan Limited Warranty

1.1       All Lifespan products have a standard 12 month parts replacement warranty unless stated otherwise.

1.2       Lifespan products and component parts are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship.

1.3       Lifespan products and components are warranted against failure or defect arising from normal use for 12 months from the date of purchase.

1.4       Lifespan will replace or repair at their discretion any part found to be defective in materials or workmanship.

1.5       All claims require the item returned to the place of purchase. Repair, replacement and adjustment are not available for defects, faults or failures due to:

      1.5.1       Ordinary wear and tear, user negligence, misuse or abuse, accident, fire, or

      1.5.2       Malicious damage by a third person; alterations or modifications by a non authorized service technician

      1.5.3       Failure to service the equipment in accordance with the user manual's Specifications and recommendations.

      1.5.4       Rusting of equipment

      1.5.5       Call outs are not included in Lifespan's warranty policy. For all call outs, a fee will apply plus labour charge. Please also note that in some areas, call outs are not available.

1.6       All equipment is warranted for domestic use only. Products from Lifespan that are used in a rental or hire situation will not qualify for normal warranty conditions.

1.7       All parts replaced within the warranty period are covered for a minimum of 3 months. If the warranty on the item is greater than 3 months then the part will be warranted until the items warranty expires. All parts replaced outside the warranty period have a 3 month warranty.

2.0       Exclusions

2.1       Shipping and labour charges are not included in this warranty. The cost of freighting the replacement part/item under warranty, or component to the customer will incur standard transport fees. The cost of freighting products or parts to Lifespan shall be at the expense of the customer, unless within DOA period. See 6.3.8 for definition DoA (Dead on Arrival).

2.2       Cables are excluded from this warranty.

2.3       The warranty, or implied warranty, does not cover normal wear and tear and all warranties are void if the product is used for other than normal activities.

2.4       Repairs or replacements required where there is evidence that such conditions have contributed to a component failure; will not be covered by the warranty.

2.5       Other exclusions are: Damage affected by outer force, Intervention by unauthorized parties, Incorrect handling of the product, Non-compliance of the operating instructions and Commercial Use.

2.6       This warranty does not cover any damage caused by transportation of your item, we are not responsible for damage in transit, if you suspect any damage to your item you may sign your item 'UNCHECKED' or you may need to obtain transport insurance.

3.0       Notice

3.1       This warranty does not cover any personal injuries, damage to or failure of the product or any other losses due to accident, misuse, neglect, abuse, normal wear, improper assembly or improper maintenance.

3.2       Claims under this warranty should be made to your authorized Lifespan dealer with dated proof of purchase and said dealer will determine if the component(s) is defective.

3.3       Any defective part will be replaced free of charge.

3.4       Installation labour is not included in this warranty.

3.5       This warranty is extended to the original owner only and does not cover any defect, malfunction or failure which does not conform to the limited warranty aforesaid.

3.6       Your warranty is only valid if you can prove you are the original purchaser on this item (i.e. a copy of the receipt, invoice, delivery date or internet confirmation).

3.7       Warranty commences date of sale.

3.8       DoA (Dead on Arrival)
'DoA' applies to products which have a major fault within 14 days of customer purchase. These products may be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Lifespan.

3.9       Returned Goods
The unauthorized return of parts or product shall be at the expense of the customer. Lifespan will not be liable for the freight or return of the product

3.10       Turnaround Times
It is the intention of Lifespan to respond to all repairs within 96 hours of unit inspection, dependant on parts availability and lead times for 'Return to Base' products In the event Lifespan can not access parts for a service request, 1 year parts.

4.0       Definition of Lifespan Motor Warranty Policy

4.1       Lifespan Lifetime Motor Warranty
The warranty shall guarantee that all components are free from defects or faulty manufacture for a period stated pertaining to a particular brand. All faulty components shall be replaced or supplied free of charge as set out in this policy. All warranties in this policy apply to home use only. These warranties do not apply to products used in any commercial use. Warranty does not cover normal wear & tear. Life time of a motor is considered to be 5 years unless otherwise stated specifically.

5.0       AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
