GET INVOLVED

This month Lifespan Fitness is stepping up and supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation throughout their ‘Step Up to Breast Cancer’ challenge. Through donations and spreading awareness, Lifespan Fitness is putting a foot forward to help fight the cause.

During the month of August, $10 from selected sales within the Lifespan Fitness cardio collection is going towards ground-breaking research projects at the National Breast Cancer Foundation. At the end of the challenge one lucky participant of the challenge will win a ‘Fitness Pack’ donated by Lifespan Fitness including a treadmill, exercise mat, resistance bands set and shaker bottle valued at $987.95.

As a fitness focused brand, we are committed to keeping Australians fit and encourage everyone to keep active to reduce the risk of breast cancer. 20,000 Australians are predicted to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, it is important to show support where we can and fund research that deepens our understanding of risk factors that contribute to breast cancer and ultimately reduce deaths.

The ‘Step Up to Breast Cancer’ challenge is a virtual event that can be completed anywhere and at any time. Participants are challenged to walk or run 10,000 steps a day throughout August and raise vital funds for game-changing breast cancer research. The challenge can be completed as a team, on your own, at the gym, with your work colleagues, or while completing daily activities in line with COVID restrictions in your area. Tracking your 10,000 steps a day is easy, just use your personal smart phone, fitness watch, smart watch or a pedometer to count your daily steps. At the end of the day upload your daily steps online and keep track of your progress on an interactive tracking map. For each Friday during the month the National Breast Cancer Foundation will hold a ‘Super Charge Friday’ where participants will have the chance to win some incredible prizes.

With 1 in 7 women being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, it is a cancer that will impact most whether you or someone you know has been diagnosed. Studies have shown that being active for at least 30 minutes a day helps to reduce the risk of breast cancer, so let's put on our sneakers and get moving.
