FreeRun Curved Treadmills FAQ
Curved treadmills are manual treadmills (no motor) with a 15-degree curve. The motion of the treadmill belt is activated by the movement of your legs, creating a workout that's more natural, ergonomic and activates a greater number of muscles.
No electricity is required to operate a curved treadmill.
Curved treadmills work exactly the same as running/walking outside, meaning you'll go as fast as your legs move. This means that there's no hypothetical speed limit to the treadmill other than your own ability.
Curved treadmills are great for HIIT as they let you easily switch between speeds and intensities without having to fuss around with settings on the machine. Spring training is also great as the treadmill allows you to go as fast as you can.
These treadmills tend to be a bit bulkier than other machines and will generally require up to 2m x 1m of space. Unfortunately, curved treadmills can't be folded away.
