Incline Treadmills FAQ
An incline treadmill allows you to adjust the angle of the treadmill belt, simulating the effect of walking/running uphill. Regular treadmills, on the other hand, have a static running belt that can't be altered.
While specific numbers are difficult to predict, treadmill running definitely burns more calories than regular treadmill running. This is because the extra incline forces your body to work harder, exerting more energy in the process.
Incline treadmills are suitable for anyone, although the intensity of high-incline running may be something you'll need to work up to.
Incline treadmills are perfect for both weight loss and interval training. In the first case, they burn more energy by forcing your body to work harder. And for interval training they allow greater variation in intensity, especially if you choose a treadmill with automatic incline.
